Description

single-edged ridged steel blade, Monogram partly legible [G?]R under a princely coronet, gilt quillons, later mounted with a carved jade Mughal hilt, leather-covered wood scabbard with engraved gilt metal mounts

Condition

The carved jade hilt with some internal inclusions and minor encrustations (probably a later marriage), the gilt quillon and mounts on scabbard with some rubbing and minor losses, the steel hilt with oxidisation and discoloration as a result, the upper edge particularly discolored, possibly remnants of old adhesive, the leather scabbard with some knicks and ware, as viewed.
