Description
- Tulipwood, kingwood, brass, porcelain
- 130cm. high, 113cm. wide, 54cm. deep; 4ft. 3in., 3ft. 8½in., 1ft. 9¼in.
crossbanded and boxwood strung, mounted with porcelain panels depicting a child, birds, trophies and other Louis XV style motifs painted on a dark blue ground, the superstructure with raised centre section with galleried marble top above a cupboard door flanked by two bow front sections, with three frieze drawers, on cabriole legs
Condition
In country house condition, with wear consistent with age and use. Losses to veneers and cracks to this surface notably on legs. Rubbing to gilt-painted decoration on porcelain plaques. Age cracks to veneers at construction points. White marble top with old age crack. Apron of central frieze drawer with loose veneers and mount. Mounts tarnished and some loose. Very decorative.
