Condition
The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is slightly discoloured and there is a glossy layer of varnish. Furthermore there are some restored losses visible in raking light. The paint surface has been slightly pressed due to the relining. Ultra violet inspection reveals an uneven layer of varnish. Retouching to all four margins is also apparent. To the lower right hand corner there is an area of restoration and also to the left hand tree there is a recently restored 4 cm damage. There is another recent restoration between the two donkeys in the lower right. There is also some old retouching to the central tree towards the upper margin. Overall the work is in good condition. The painting is offered in a moulded gilt wood frame.
