Catalogue Note
The type of glass, form, limited palette, style of painting, mark, and enamels all link this snuff bottle to the intriguing group of mid-Qianlong enamels produced at the court for a few years from mid-1767. A closely related guyuexuan-marked glass snuff bottle from the Mary and George Bloch collection, enamelled with cats and butterflies, was sold in these rooms, 24th November 2014, lot 128.
