the rounded sides rising to a short unglazed neck, painted with four cartouches of alternating panels of scholars in mountainous river landscapes and rose sprays,divided by diaper borders, between lappets stylised with chrysanthemum scrolls strung together by ruyi heads against a diaper ground, all between a key fret border at the shoulders and a band of floral blossoms issuing from the foot, the foot and foot ring unglazed

Condition

This jar is in overall good condition, with a glaze line (approx. 2 cm) near one panel. There are minor scratches to the surface of the glaze, and very few firing imperfections including burst bubbles and iron spots. Without its cover.
