carved and hollowed from a large irregular oval pebble, the rim carved in high relief with a bird perched on blossoming prunus branches, the stone of celadon tone with a dark russet skin, the base inscribed and with an apocryphal Qianlong reign mark, fitted box

Provenance

Purchased in Hong Kong in 2007.

Condition

The washer is in overall very good condition, with minute fritts to the rim and raised parts of the carving. Slightly more warm in colour than illustrated in the catalogue.
