the rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot, the interior brightly painted in rich cobalt-blue tones with leafy scrolling lotus; together with a polychrome charger, 17th Century, enamelled to the interior with a barbed medallion enclosing flowers reserved on a trellis ground

Provenance

The lotus charger, purchased from Barbes, Paris, 1965.
The polychrome charger purchased from Berard, Paris, 1964.

Condition

The lotus charger is in good condition with the exception of rim fritting and a shallow flake to the inside edge of the footring; the polychrome dish is also in good condition with the exception of rim fritting, a splash of green enamel on the rim, and minor glaze scratches and glaze firing imperfections.
