Description

the slender ovoid body rising from a short straight foot to a waisted neck and straight rim, applied with an ear-shaped handle opposite a curved spout, painted in bright cobalt blue-tones depicting boys playing a hat game within a fenced garden in a rocky landscape, below a band of lotus scrolls at the neck, the cover with a similar design of lotus, with silver mounts to rims, the handle and the knop to the cover

Condition

The pot and cover are in good condition, with the exception of some slight scratches to the surface. The silver finial on the cover is slightly loose. The teapot has minor frits to the spout, and a small hole in the inner side of the handle. There are some firing flaws including a firing line around one end of the handle (approx. 4 cm), very minor glaze pooling at the base, and burst bubbles and iron spots in various areas.
