Catalogue Note
Zhang Daqian is well-known for his love of good food. During his visit to India, between 1949 to 1951, he stayed for more than a month in West Bangal with a famous Chinese chef. As a gesture of gratitude, Zhang Daqian painted three artworks, lots 632, 633 and 693. The artworks have remained within the family since then.
