I Mime: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down, attached to the backing board in two places at the lower corners. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
II Long Distance : Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down, attached to the backing board at two places along the upper edge and in two places along the lower edge. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and a window of mount staining, probably from a previous mounting, towards the extreme edges, as visible in the printed catalogue illustration. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
III Orchestra : Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board at two places along the upper edge and in two places along the lower edge. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
IV The Meeting: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board at two places along the upper edge and in two places along the lower edge. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
V Legend: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board at two places along the upper edge with tape and in two places along the lower edge. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. There is a small surface scratch (approx. 1.5 cm long) to the lower part of the blue shape.The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
VI Decanter: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board at two places along the upper edge with tape and in two places along the lower edge. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is a small tear (approx. 5mm long) to the centre of the upper edge. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. There is a tiny amount of surface abrasion to the centre of the blue pigment on the lower element. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
VII Jeune fille: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board at two places along the upper edge with tape and in two places along the lower edge. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is a small tear (approx. 5mm long) to the centre of the upper edge. There are a few scattered faint spots of foxing, some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
VIII Shadows: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board at two places along the upper edge with tape and in two places along the lower edge. The upper edge is stucked to the edge beneath it. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.
IX Malaxeur à béton: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board in two places along the upper edge with tape and in two places along the lower edge. The upper edge is stucked to the edge beneath it. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. X Dragonfly: Executed on a folded double page of cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the backing board in two places along the lower edge. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled. There is some time staining to the paper surface and some mount staining to the extreme edges. There is a faint spot of staining to the upper left quadrant. The colours are fresh and bright. This work is in overall good condition.

Catalogue Note
Each titled composition is based upon an original collage of pasted papers in spectrum colours, executed in New York in 1916-17. The series of ten collages collectively known as Revolving Doors (see lots 126 and 127 for 1942 versions in watercolour of two works from these series) were assigned elegant titles as follows: Mime, Long Distance, Orchestra, The Meeting, Legend, Decanter, Jeune fille, Shadows, Concrete Mixer and Dragon-fly.
