A L’oeil nu : Le tableau apparaît dans un état de conservation très satisfaisant. Le tableau est toujours sur sa toile d'origine mais le châssis a été changé dans la 2e moitié du XXe siècle. Il a fait l'objet d'un nettoyage un peu fort qui a supprimé des glacis dans les parties brunes (fonds, veste brune, perruque). A la lampe U.V. : Le tableau apparaît sous un vernis vert uniforme. On remarque d'assez nombreuses reprises dans le drapé rouge, la perruque et le dossier du fauteuil. To the naked eye: The painting is in a very satisfactory condition. The painting is still on its original canvas but the stretcher has been changed during the second half of the 20th century. It has been cleaned a little bit too strong, so some glazes have been removed on the brown parts (background, brown coat, wig). Under U.V. light: The painting appears under a green uniform varnish. We notice numerous repaints on the red drapery, the wig and the back of the armchair.
