Catalogue Note

Jean-Gabriel Imbert (1735-1795) became a master clockmaker in 1776 and a deputé of the guild in 1780. He was known for working with some of the best suppliers in Paris, including Jean Goyer, Nicholas Bonnet, Francois Vion, and the Osmonds for his cases, and Le Cat and H. Martin for his gilding. His springs were supplied by Richard and Monginot and his dials by Bezelle, Merlet and Barbezat.
