In overall very good condition and presentation. There are few areas of minor wear consistent with age, use and changes in atmospheric conditions. The cabinet has been well-maintained as the bronzes and case show very little surface dirt or residue. Some slight age splits are visible to the veneer and inlay, but there are not signs of loss or restoration to them. One screw is missing from the proper back right corner of the foliate decorated gilt-bronze mount surrounding the marble top, resulting in a slight protrusion of the mount.

There is no exact glass negative for this cabinet. However, it may be a variation of Linke index number 833 with elaborate floral marquetry on the two doors, a top à gorge and a platform stretcher. The bronzes are very good quality and consistent with Linke’s output. Other locks have been seen by Duvivier on early Linke and Krieger furniture, a locksmith in the same street as Linke’s and Zwiener's workshops in the Faubourg St. Antoine.
