Condition

The statue is composed of two removable sections, with the joint at the abdomen. There is minor dirt to the surface throughout, as visible in the catalogue photograph. There is particular dirt, including splashes of paint and orange marks, to the base. There are restorations to the plaster, most notably to the lips. Further patches of restoration are to the proper right cheek, the chin, to the chest on the proper right side, to the nipples and a few further elsewhere. There is brown staining to the legs and feet. There are chips, losses and restorations to the base, particularly to the edges and corners, and the left back corner is restored. There are grey paint restorations, in particular around the feet and between the legs. There are abrasions to the proper right knee. Later paint layers, especially to the upper body, could conceal some possible condition points. There are some scratches to the surface, in particular to the legs, and restorations to the upper back on the proper right side. The cast has a creamish patina in ares, including to the back of the proper right leg. There are a few small chips to the edges of the joint where the two parts meet. There are a few small lacunae to the base. Otherwise the condition is good.
