Condition

Overall very good condition. The shade with approximately 3 cracks to the glass dispersed throughout. All of these hairlines appear stable. The shade with very light surface soiling to the adjacent contours of the shade leading. The patinated bronze base presents with finely articulated scroll detailing on the standard and ribbed and petal decoration on the cushion. The base with light surface soiling and minor areas of oxidation to the recessed contours of the design. All three sockets and paddle switches appear to be original and undisturbed. With a period Tiffany finial. When viewed in person the lamp presents with more nuanced coloration compared to the printed catalogue illustration. The flowers display a subtle variation of warm whites and pale orange-yellow centers. The leaves display a range of green hues, from forest green to bright apple green and more olive green tones. Brilliant aqua accents the upper shade, and richly textured navy blue translucent glass accentuates the lower border rows. The shade presents beautifully overall and is a fine example of the arrowhead model, which marries Tiffany’s affinity for naturalistic subjects with his interest in conventionalized forms.
