Description
- Diamonds/Pearls/Platinum/Gold
Each of stylised palmette design, set with baguette, pear-shaped, circular- and brilliant-cut diamonds, set to the centre with a pear-shaped black and white natural saltwater pearl measuring 10.1 - 12.2 x 16.3mm and 11.4 - 12.6 x 15.6mm respectively, French assay marks.
Condition
Accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no. 13757, stating that the pearls were found to be natural, saltwater, with no evidence of treatment.
One brooch with double French assay marks for 18 carat gold on each pin of brooch fitting. Both brooches with French assay marks for 18 carat gold and platinum on reverse of setting of pearl. Diamonds estimated to be approximately I-J colour, VS-SI clarity on average, estimated total diamond weight approximately 18.00 - 22.00 carats. White pearl measuring 17 in length, approximately 12mm in width, black pearl approximately 16 in length, 12mm in width. Black pearl slightly flatter to reverse, dark greyish-brown body colour with strong red, green and purple overtones, white pearl with white body colour and white overtones, both with areas of light scratches and pitting to nacre. Brooches each measure approximately 51 x 38mm over all. Pin fittings intact and secure, pin on white pearl brooch possibly a later replacement, with some discolouration. Light scratches to metal consistent with wear, and traces of residue around pearl fittings. In good condition.
