Description

Designed as a winking cat, the eye set with a cabochon emerald, the nose set with a circular-cut ruby, the body set with a cabochon onyx, accented with brilliant-cut diamonds, signed VCA, numbered, French assay and maker's marks, pouch stamped Van Cleef & Arpels, circa 1954.

Condition
French assay mark for 18 carat gold. Signed VCA. Numbered 54 B1013X37. Maker's mark. Emerald of medium green, surface reaching fissures, typical inclusions visible under magnification and light abrasions consistent with wear. Onyx of very dark brown, light abrasions consistent with wear. Ruby purplish red, transparent, abrasions consistent with wear, typical inclusions visible under magnification. Diamonds bright and lively. Secure pin. Scratches to metal consistent with wear. In good condition.
