The brushed metal dial with Arabic numeral indicators and blued steel hands, housed within a rounded geometric case, each of the sides and the winder set with a circular-cut diamond, suspended by a chain from a similar surmount, dial signed Van Cleef & Arpels, surmount numbered, French assay and maker's marks.
Condition
Partial French assay marks for 18 carat gold on both pin fittings. Maker's mark G M with crossed hammers on one pin. Inscribed number 45984 on hinge of pin fittings. Dial signed Van Cleef & Arpels. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.50 - 1.00 carats. Total length approximately 55mm. Hinge fittings and chain secure. Light scratches to metal and glass surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition.
Movement running at the time of cataloguing. Case with scuffs consistent with age, overall good condition. Clasp similarly so, and the pins slightly bent at the ends. Dial with slight discoloration and spotting. Hands in good condition. The watch has not been tested for the accuracy of its timekeeping.
