- Lacquer, diamond, 18 carat gold
Of rectangular form, a geometric 'air' pattern in black lacquer extending around the exterior, the sides of plain black enamel, the clasp collet-set with a baguette diamond, the interior plain, measuring approximately 88 x 58 x 14mm, signed Cartier, numbered, French assay and partial maker's marks, gross weight approximately 135 grams.
Condition
French assay marks for 18 carat gold on interior lid and box. Partial maker's marks on interior lid and box. Signed Cartier Paris Londres New York on interior edge above clasp. Numbered 02781 to left of signature. Stamped Made in France on interior edge of lid. Small chip to one corner of enamelled side, and patches of wear. Enamelled panels to sides possibly reapplied or later in date. Scratches, minor chips and general wear to areas of lacquer, particularly on the base and corners. Diamond in clasp bright and lively, estimated weight approximately 0.20 - 0.40 carats. Clasp mechanism and hinge to lid intact and secure. Light scratches and areas of minor discolouration to metal surfaces consistent with wear. Residue to interior of box. In good condition.
