Designed as a series of portrait miniatures on mother-of-pearl, depicting Marie Antoinette and other noble women in the manner of Elizabeth Vigée Le Brun, each within a frame of seed pearls and linked by articulated floral motifs set with brilliant-cut diamonds, the front suspending an additional portrait miniature from links set with circular-cut diamonds, length approximately 435mm, French assay mark, together with a pair of earrings of similar design with printed portrait miniatures, the surmounts set with bouton-shaped pearls, hook fittings.

Necklace tongue stamped with French assay mark for 18 carat gold, indistinct French maker's mark. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 3.00 - 4.00 carats. Seed pearls of white body colour with white, green and rose overtones. Bouton shaped pearls each approximately 7.5mm diameter, cream to slightly grey body colours with green and rose overtones, som areas of unevenness and imperfections to nacre surfaces. Miniatures in necklace hand-painted, those in earrings printed with painted details. Miniatures in good condition, painted on ivory, each approximately 17mm diameter. One diamond section of necklace a later replacement. Earrings approximately 42mm long each. Clasp secure. Mother of pearl backings in good condition, possibly later replacements. Scratches to surfaces consistent with age and wear. In good condition, commensurate with age.
