The oval-shaped evening bag of fluted design, with a cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, completed by a black tassel, fitted with an oval magnifying mirror, gross weight approximately 295 dwts, signed Bulgari, numbered BV 756, with maker's mark; together with a matching pill case set with a round ruby thumbpiece, gross weight approximately 24 dwts, signed Bulgari. With fitted carrier envelope.
Condition
In overall good condition, with light wear and scratches to the gold, commensurate with age and not readily apparent when used. Evening bag: hinged loop signed Bulgari, with Italian assay mark and inscribed 'Made in Italy 18Kt'. Bears a nice heft. The mirror frame with Italian assay mark for 18 karat gold, with small damage to the edge. Inside of case lined with brown suede. The cabochon sapphire is a medium blue color, with minor surface abrasions. Dimensions measuring approximately 6¼ x 3½ x 2 inches. With fitted brown suede carrier envelope, unsigned. Pill case: hinged loop signed Bulgari. Case edge stamped 18K Italy. The ruby is a medium to medium deep slightly purplish red color, eye-clean. Dimensions measuring approximately 1⅞ x 1⅛ x ⅝ inches.
