well potted with a pear-shaped body rising from a splayed foot to a tall waisted neck flaring at the rim, the exterior covered in a rich dark red glaze pooling to a deeper tone around the foot, the interior and base left white, the base inscribed with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue

Sotheby's London, 17th December 1996, lot 134.

Condition

It is in overall good condition, except for some expected surface scratches. There are also original kiln speckles and pinpricks, especially to the interior of the mouth. The actual colour is slightly darker than that of the catalogue illustration.
