each bowl with deep rounded sides rising from a short foot to an everted rim, the stand worked in the form of a cup resting in the center of a circular dish with a splayed hollow foot, all applied with a lustrous black glaze, the foot rims left unglazed revealing the buff-colored stoneware body (4)
Condition
One bowl has an approx. 3.5 cm wide restoration to the rim, comprising minor frits and nicks and consolidation to a firing crack. The other bowl is in overall good condition. One cupstand with restoration to approx. 1/3 of the bowl, which appears to comprise a section out and restuck with associated cracks. There is also a restored chip to the rim of the bowl, as well as one to the rim of the dish. The other cupstand is slightly unevenly potted with seven shallow flake chips to the rim and a glaze pull at the base of the bowl. The ring foot is slightly unevenly potted. All four pieces with expected wear to the surface and minor firing imperfections. The surface has been cleaned and polished.
