Description
- René Lalique
- "Sirènes et Grenouilles" Decanter and Stopper, Marcilhac no. 3150
- engraved R. Lalique France
- molded and frosted glass with blue patiné
Provenance
Macklowe Gallery, New York
Condition
Overall good condition. When viewed firsthand, the patina has a greener hue than in the catalogue illustration. The glass presents with minor air bubbles and minute particulate inclusions inherent in the making and not visually detracting, with two minute burst air bubbles at the widest point of the diameter. The glass surfaces with minor surface scratches, minor surface dirt and wear to the patina consistent with age and gentle handling. The stopper is original and presents with wear to the patina. The body of the bottle with two minor flecks at mid-height. Light surface soiling to the interior of the bottle. A very nice example which bears witness to Lalique's aquatic and feminine inspirations.
