Condition
Overall in good condition. The surfaces with expected surface soiling, a few scattered stains, surface scratches and a few scattered abrasions to the raised portions of the design, consistent with age and gentle use. The upper edge of one sconce with a minor loss to the plaster, to the proper left side, along approximately 5/8 x 3/8 inches, not visually distracting. The other sconce with a minor abrasion with associated dirt along the upper edge, and a few minor abrasions on the proper right side of the body along on of the raised portion of the shell, the largest measuring approximately 7/8 in length. The sconces are without electrical components. The reverse with a circular hole which has likely been later added. A very elegant design, realized in one of the artist’s favorite materials.
