- "Mosaico Zanfirico" Vase
- glass internally decorated with canes
model no. 3859
Exhibited
XXVIIa Biennale, Venice, 1954 (for the model)
Literature
Marino Barovier and Carla Sonego, Paolo Venini and his Furnace, Milan, 2016, p. 215 (for the model)
Condition
Please note that a partial (two lines) acid-mark has been found to the underside of the vase where the underside curves. The color reproduction in the catalogue is inaccurate. In reality the blue is more of a crisp almost cobalt blue, not the dull blue depicted in the catalogue photograph. The white internal decoration also does not look as it does in reality. In reality the white threading is a cleaner, defined white that contrasts nicely with the blue. Overall in our opinion the vase presents better in person than it does in the catalogue photograph.
