Condition

Overall very good condition. The finish appears to be original and undisturbed. There is a 6-inch diagonal scratch on the top drawer front (right side) that has been sensitively touched up with shellac at some point in the history of the piece. There is a small section of wood (1 1/2 x 3/8 inch) that is missing from the bottom right interior corner (around the kneehole). The back edge of the desk top on the reverse of the desk with a split/tear to the wood (possibly stabilized at some point in the history of the piece). There are a few small areas of infill on the outer left edge of the shelf top. The surfaces with surface scratches, abrasions and minor edge losses throughout consistent with age and use. The shelf top with areas of deeper old surface scratches. The desk top with a few small minor stains. The cabinet and drawer interiors with some soiling and occasional minor staining. With a few stress fractures to the wood throughout consistent with normal shrinkage. Please note the measurements of this desk, as it is does not dis-assemble in parts. A dynamic and strongly architectonic form.
