Condition
Overall in very good condition. The color of the wood is slightly darker when viewed in person than it appears in the catalogue illustration. With light surface dirt concentrated to the recessed areas and consistent with age and gentle use. The wood surfaces with a few light surface scratches and minor abrasions consistent with age and gentle use, including an area of oxidation adjacent to the right of the central leaf, visible in the catalogue illustration. The bronze with light surface scratches, rubbing to the gilding and minor traces of oxidation consistent with age and gentle use. The glass with minor surface irregularities and minute air bubbles inherent to the making. The glass surfaces with minor surface scratches consistent with age and gentle use. The interior edges of the coupes with minor flecks consistent with gentle use. Two of the balls appear to have been reglued to the mount. The upper glass ball with a few areas of restoration, not visually distracting as protected by the mount. A wonderful sculptural piece by the artist.
