Condition
Overall in very good original condition. When viewed first hand, the wood presents with rich figuring and a warmer, browner and less yellow tone than seen in the catalogue illustration, where the table was exposed to a strong light. The wood surfaces present with some surface scratches, a few minor abrasions and light surface soiling to the recessed portions of the design consistent with age and gentle use. The edges of the top with a few hairline cracks, some of them visible in the catalogue illustration and a few smaller to the thinner areas of the top, not visually distracting, and with a few losses to the thinner areas of the wood, not visually distracting and some of them old and possibly original. The wider side of the top with an area of abrasions to along the edge, over approximately 3 inches, which could easily been toned down. A wonderful example of Nakashima's work, displaying extraordinary figuring to the top and a unique free form edge.
