Condition
Overall in very good original condition. When viewed in person, the decorative motif presents with a delicate mauve color, even more nuanced than seen in the catalogue illustration. The glaze with a few irregularities and bubbles inherent in the making, as seen in the catalogue illustration. The interior of the vase with a beautiful deep green glaze. Each of the two handles with a hairline firing crack starting at the top of the vase and extending to half of the handle on one side, three quarter and the sides of the handle on the other. The surfaces with a few very light surface scratches and light surface dirt to the recessed portions of the design consistent with age and gentle handling. The reverse of the vase is undecorated and presents with a very minor irregularity in the glaze (1/2 x ¼ inches), inherent in the making and not visually distracting. A sculptural vase by Jouve, with a very poetic decorative motif and great presence when viewed first hand.
