When viewed in person, the patinated surfaces present with even richer hues than seen in the catalogue illustration, with variations of brown, bronze, gilt and silver colors. The lower part of the body with a delicately hammered surface treatment. The surfaces with a few minor shallow scratches and gentle rubbing to the patina, consistent with age and gentle handling. The base with a minor crevice around the bottom, along approximately 1 1/2 inches, 1/4 inch above the base, likely inherent in the making and only visible upon close inspection. A very delicate work by Dunand with a lovely dinanderie work.
