Condition
Overall in very good original condition. The surfaces with a few scratches, minor abrasions and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The top and sides of the chest with light fading to the walnut, consistent with light exposure and not visually distracting. The painted surface with a few scattered minor chips concentrated along the lower border and not visually distracting. The lower edge with a minor chip, just below the drawer pull, measuring approximately 1/2 x 1/8 inch. The lower edge with a minor difference in color to the wood on the proper right, visible on the catalogue illustration and inherent in the making. The pull of the painted door is slightly loose. The interior of the door is lined with paper and the top drawer is divided in twenty small compartments. A highly functional design epitomizing Nelson's mid-century American aesthetic.
