Condition

Overall good condition. The lacquered wood surfaces with scattered surface scratches, occasional water marks, and areas of craquelure throughout. The lacquer with scattered losses throughout and is unstable in some areas. The wood would benefit from being professionally conserved. The chair has been reupholstered at some point in the history of the piece and presents with a slightly more vibrant wine color when viewed in person. The upholstery with some light surface soiling. The proper right and left back corners of the seat with tears to the upholstery. The underside of the seat will require reinforcement at the buyer's discretion. A deeply sculptural work by Ponti with great presence and elegant lines when viewed in person.
