Condition

Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces present with natural wear, minor rubbing and light scuffs and scratches, as is consistent with age and gentle handling. The rich walnut body has lovely grain and is much more nuanced than in the catalogue illustration. The turned wood vessel with two hairlines in the wood which have been filled at the time of production. This is often found in monumental works by Moulthrop due to the fragility of the wood prior to varnishing. One is 16 in., radiating from the underside, and a second is approximately 5 in. along the globular body. The interior of the vessel with some minor surface dirt and waxy consistency to the varnish. Impressive in its scale and appearance, this rare vessel exhibits rich, natural coloring.
