Condition

Overall in good condition. The wood surfaces have been sensitively refinished and present with scattered scuffs and scratches and with a few chips concentrated to the feet, consistent with age and use. The daybed has been reupholstered in natural horsehair, the top with a few areas of wear and thinning to the hair down to the hide, with three small areas of loss, the smallest measuring approximately 2 ¾ x ¾ inches. A solid example of this design illustrated in Galerie Patrick Seguin's monograph Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret: Chandigarh, India, 1951-66.
