Condition
Overall very good condition. When viewed in person, the glaze is a rich textural green in a craquelure technique which was more thickly applied in some areas and therefore darker. A few particulate inclusions in the glaze and a slightly raised unglazed area measuring approximately 1 ½ inches on the body, both of which are inherent in the production of the piece and not visually disruptive. A few minor scattered chips to the glaze surrounding the base of the lamp which may have occurred during the firing process. A crack to the underside of the base which occurred during firing, is stable and inherent in its production. Minor oxidation to the metal elements and the shade is newer. The lamp has been inspected under ultraviolet light and presents no evidence of restoration. A fine and unusually large example from this designer. Please note Sotheby's does not guarantee the functionality and/or the voltage compatibility for electrical wiring, and suggests having all electrical components inspected by a licensed electrician.
