Catalogue Note

Ref. 1486 was the first shaped waterproof wristwatch made by Patek Philippe. It was launched in 1940 and production ceased in 1953. The present example is from the second series, produced with the calibre 10’’’ 200. The case was made for Patek by Taubert, after their own patent. It consists of two parts that are held tight by the sliding strips on either side. According to research, around 300 watches of this reference were made in yellow gold.
