Catalogue Note

Production of cal. 30CH was introduced by Longines in 1947, replacing the world's first flyback chronograph, the cal. 13ZN. The flyback feature made chronograph-resetting easier for pilots, allowing wearers to press one button and revert the dial to zero in an instant. Cal. 30CH was designed to be sportier, and this movement was often found in stainless steel, waterproof cases with button pushers.

The present lot is a well▨ preserved, original example of a Long🐲ines chronograph containing the famed 30CH flyback movement within a large stainless steel case with screw down back.

The owner was a career pilot who was given the chronograph upon his receipt of his pilot’s license by his uncle, who was an employee at Longines. Offered 𓃲for the🗹 first time from the original owner, this Longines 30CH presents a fantastic opportunity for any collector of pieces with interesting provenance.

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming that the watch was purchased by the company Longines-Wittnauer on September 8th, 1966.
