• cal. 18SMCCRQV nickel lever movement, bi metallic balance, 35 jewels, two hammers repeating on two gongs • 14k gold dial, painted black Arabic numerals, blued steel Breguet hands, four sunken subsidiary dials indicating day, 60 minute register combined with leap year and month indication, date, constant seconds and ages of the moon combined with fan form aperture for moon phases, outer minute and 1/5 second divisions • 18k green gold case, bezels and Murat style pendant with Greek key enamel pattern, calendar correctors under the bezel cover, chronograph activated through the crown, split chronograph pusher and minute repeating slide to the band, enamel monogram to the exterior of the case back • case and movement signed • with an associated chain
Condition
The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Case in overall fair/good vintage condition with wear, scuffing and dependencies consistent with age and use. Case back with two prominent round indentation markings: one convex, one concave. Heavy loss to the enamel pigment of the case back monogram " PCN." Scuffing and surface markings throughout .Some loss to the greek key enamel bezel at the case back hinge. Cuvette slightly warped likely from opening and closing. Some small signs of pitting to the cuvette in various areas. One sharper pointed indentation. Dial with overall oxidation to a pale yellow. Some dot markings and surface debris. Painted indexes remain vibrant with little fading. Split chronograph, perpetual calendar, phases of the moon functioning properly, but may require service. Minute repeater chiming in phase. Movement in overall very good condition with some small area of slight oxidation.

Accompanied by an Audemars Piguet Certificate of Authenticity confirming the completion of the movement in 1912, with further sale on May 25, 1923.

It is interesting to note that the published examples, No. 14827 and 13🌠927, are both retailed by Gübelin and furthermore feature similar Greek key enamel motifs and stylized numerals. The former is in yellow gold and the latter is in white gold. To the best of our knowledge, the present example is the only one of its kind known in g🎶reen gold.
The ꧋present lot represents the height of complicated horology combined ꩵwith archetypal Art Deco design.
