The canvas is not lined. The canvas is gently undulating and would require restretching. There are two artist's pin holes to the upper left corner with two small associated spots of paint loss as well as a further artist's pin hole to the lower right corner. Examination under UV light reveals spots of retouching to the lower corners and three spots of retouching to the lower part of the right edge. There are some further, minor spots of retouching to the left part of the extreme lower edge. There are fine lines of craquelure in places, most prominently to one of the clouds in the upper left quadrant, which should be stabilised. There is a very small scratch with associated paint losses to the centre of the upper half of the composition. There are some scattered fly spots and small flecks of dirt which could be removed. There is some light pigment flaking in places along the extreme edges, not visible when framed. This work is in overall good condition.
