Condition

The work is in very good condition. The canvas is unlined. There are a couple of minor fine lines of craquelure scattered throughout, otherwise it appears stable. Under UV light, there is a layer of varnish that is difficult to read through. There are some scattered minor strokes of retouching in the drapery in the figure's lap, as well as in the background to the left of the figure's head. There is a small line of vertical inpainting in the chair, otherwise fine.
