The canvas is unlined. There are two vertical stretcher marks and associated craquelure around it in the center of the composition, with further minor craquelure to the upper right corner of the canvas. When examined under UV light, there is an area of retouching in the upper half of the left edge, approx. 2.5 in. long and 1/2 in. wide. There is a small area of retouching to the center of the sky and other scattered minor individual strokes of in-painting. The surface is largely clean and the work is largely in very good condition.
