Condition
The canvas has been relined. There is lively and strong impasto throughout the composition. There is craquelure to the right of the sky, most notably to the middle ground just above the houses. When examined under UV light, there are scattered individual strokes of retouching throughout the composition, there is repainting near the top edge of the center of the sky, to each of the four corners and further retouching to the left foreground. The varnish is yellowing and dirty and the canvas would benefit from a clean. The painting is in good condition.
