Condition

The medium is gouache and brush and ink on linen laid down on paper mounted on panel. The sheet dimensions are 24.5 x 30.5 in. The fabric support shows numerous signs of old adhesive in the margins as well as general discoloration. In the left edge of the fabric is a long, apparently, old tear, though this is hardened by the fixative. The fabric edges are uneven and show sections of loss along the bottom edge. All the edges are covered in the current framing, obscuring the above mentioned elements. The sheet itself has retained a good color, and the media are fresh and strong. The work presents very well overall.
