Condition
The medium is oil on canvas. The canvas has a loose fabric liner. The work is in good overall condition. There is a varnish which has yellowed and which is beginning to peel and flake in the upper left edge and the upper right corner near the top edge. There is a network of very fine, pressed cracquelure throughout. There is some very minor frame rubbing, The edges are covered with paper tape. There is a soft halo at the back of her head of pentimenti. Under UV: there are a few very small dots of inpainting in the figure's proper left arm and torso, and a small area of apparently old inpainting just to the right of her hair, in the faint pentimenti. The colors are fresh, throught the varnish, and the work presents very well.
