Catalogue Note
Tiffany's "Special Hand Work" line was a feature of their production in the nineteen-teens. It represented the firm's attempt to capitalize on the aesthetic and hand-raised cachet of Arts & Crafts silver, and has parallels with Gorham's last-period Martelé work as well as the production of small workshops in Boston and Chicago.
