This work is in excellent condition. The canvas is well stretched on its original stretcher. There are no reinforcements on the reverse. The paint layer is stable. Under ultraviolet light, one can see a few tiny dots of retouching in the right side of the rug hanging on the wall in the upper center, around the heads of the figures and in the dark robe of the king around his ankles. There are no other retouches. The varnish is slightly glossy but is not unattractive. The work can be hung in its current state.
