Catalogue Note

This charming portrait of a young woman was created in 15th century Tuscany by a sculptor who clearly embraced the style of Mino da Fiesole (1429-1484). Although the hair style and drapery are simplified, the physiognomy is not generic and the influence of classical Roman portraiture is also evident.
