Private collection, Germany.

Condition

The canvas has been very thinly relined. The surface is clean and the painting is presentable. There is overall excellent retention of the paint surface with lovely detail throughout. Examination under UV light reveals a repaired tear or puncture in the sky at upper right and a triangle- shaped area of retouching at the upper right corner. A few other very small and scattered retouches in sky at center and left side. There is an area of retouching in the foreground at lower center and another at lower right. Just one or two very small ones in the architecture. These have been very well applied and there is no need for further work. Painting presents a very decorative image and can be hung as is. Offered in a gilt wood frame with beading at inner edge.
