The copper is flat and stable. The image reads well beneath an old discolored varnish, and it retains good detail. There is a faint inconsistency to the varnish at the lower left edge. An old repair is visible in the upper left corner, and there are some small and scattered fine lines and spots of retouching visible, some of which that have faintly discolored, but are in no way distracting to the overall impression. Inspection under UV reveals the aforementioned repair, lines and spots, for example in the Angels and clouds at upper left, and in Mary's blue cloak at lower right. Offered in a simply carved giltwood frame.
